an Urban Photoshoot perspective

It seems like I was their age not that long ago – and I realize it hasn’t been that long. When they were babies, I thought maybe they’d say that small forever, and every day now that they are teens I can see the adults they are becoming. It’s emerging in their smiles, and some of those looks that I’ll catch out of the corner of my eye.

I recently had an organic marketing session with a friend of mine, Julie, from high school. We went to high school a long time ago, in a land far away…

Ok, not that long, and not that far – but then again, it’s all a matter of perspective.

Julie is a portrait photographer based out of Howell. I’ve been watching her photos that she posts on her website for quite a while now, and the expressions and the eyes are so profound. I’d been intending to call her to do a photoshoot with my kids – and we recently had the opportunity to do an urban photo shoot in downtown Brighton. My kids absolutely loved every minute of having their photos taken, especially right out on the main street through town visible to all the cars going by. (yes, please catch the sarcasm here). Once they saw the final product, I think they’re glad we did it. I sure am – they are amazing, both the kids and the job that Julie did capturing their essence…
